Unfortunately, due to concerns over the COVID-19 pandemic, the Steiner Chorale has canceled its Armeling Vocal Scholarship competition originally scheduled for March 15th. The Steiner Chorale has also decided to postpone its March 13th concert featuring the Bach Magnificat and the John Rutter Requiem. A new date and time is yet to be determined. All of this is unfortunate but a necessary step to help prevent the spread of the virus.
For the competition, that decision was understandably made for us since the event was to be held on MSU campus. With the canceling of classes we could no longer hold our event there. Regarding the concert, thank you all for your patience as the Steiner board has been consulting nearly non-stop regarding the CDC and State of Michigan recommendations regarding COVID-19 and our concert this upcoming Friday evening.
For those who have purchased tickets through Eventbrite, we will be working with the platform to refund their money if possible and if the electronic logistics are prohibitive, they will be welcome to use those tickets for our next event.
Out of an abundance of caution, we will NOT be rehearsing on Monday, March 16th. For all singers, plan on meeting Monday, March 23rd unless you hear otherwise.
We are so grateful to you all for your flexibility and understanding in the face of this disappointment.
