Steiner to perform with Lansing Concert Band

The Steiner Chorale will join the Lansing Concert Band on Sunday, December 4th for a special concert entitled Holiday Festival. The concert will be held at the Charlotte Performing Arts Center and hosted by Ken Beachler and the concert band is conducted by Dr. Gary Sullivan. Concert time is 3PM. Music will include festive favorites plus an audience sing-a-long.

Tickets are $13 for adults and $5.50 for students. Kids 12 and under are FREE (tickets required). You can purchase tickets at the box office at 517-541-5690 or click here.

Steiner Chorale set to return to Silver Bells

The Steiner Chorale has been asked to return to Silver Bells in the City and lead the community sing. The 32nd Annual Silver Bells celebration will take place on the Friday before Thanksgiving, November 18th. For more information on Silver Bells in the City click here.

Date announced for Armeling Vocal Scholarship Competition

The finals of Ethel Armeling Vocal Scholarship Competition for this season will be on Sunday March, 19, 2017 at MSU Cook Recital Hall. Preliminaries will be held at Holt High School on March 4th. This competition is for High School juniors and seniors and is sponsored by the Steiner Chorale.

Works of Gilbert & Sullivan performed by Steiner

The Steiner Chorale performed selections from various operettas written by Gilbert & Sullivan. The program was presented on the historic fellowship hall stage at the Central United Methodist Church in downtown Lansing across from the capital building. This program featured many soloists and functioned also as the chorale’s annual fundraiser.

Pieces such as “O Clap Your Hands” by Ralph Vaughan Williams and “Alleluia” by Randall Thompson were most notable. Featured at this concert was Morten Lauridsen’s Lux Aeterna.

Steiner Performs Stravinsky

march2015_poster March 7, 2015 – Steiner Chorale, along with their own Masterworks orchestra, performed Igor Stravinsky’s Symphony of Psalms. The concert was held in the sanctuary of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in East Lansing. The concert was conducted by Corb H. Felgenhour. Some other selections performed by the Chorale were Daemon Irrepit Callidus by Orban, Wayfarring Stranger, arranged by Michael Engelhardt, and Song of Athena by John Tavener. Artwork by Carrie Simon.
